Nevada Outdoor School (NOS) is a non-profit organization that fosters knowledge and respect for all living and non living things, increases environmental literacy and promotes ecological stewardship in rural Nevada.  The AmeriCorps program hosts a team of members who serve Humboldt County's leading nonprofit agencies and school district in the areas of education, human services and environment.  Members recruit, train and manage community volunteers, foster interagency collaboration and leverage funds to build capacity and increase sustainability.  Partners include American Red Cross, Great Basin College and Friends of Black Rock High Rock.  Members implement the only after-school homework help and recreation program in the region and provide students with numerous year round service learning activities.  Contact: Ellen Kunz at Nevada Outdoor School.
